Terms of Service
The short version: ORI is a personal AI that acts for you. You choose what it does and which model it uses, and you stay responsible for what you ask of it. We provide the software as it is, while it is still in beta, and we will tell you when these terms change.
These terms are an agreement between you and VIETNAM FUTURE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMPANY LIMITED (tax code 0314740559, 56 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Ward Tan Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam), which provides ORI ("we", "us").
These terms apply when you download, install, or use the ORI app, ORI Brain, the ORI cloud assistant, or orilabs.org (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
What ORI is
- The ORI app runs on your phone and is the client you talk to.
- ORI Brain is an engine you install and run on your own computer. It does the work, and keeps your conversations, tasks, and memories there.
- The ORI cloud assistant is an optional assistant we host for you, for when you would rather not keep a computer running. It needs an ORI account.
Beta
ORI is in private beta. Features may change, be limited, or be removed. Things may break, and data may be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important. Access to the beta is by invitation, and we may end it at any time.
Who can use ORI
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to accept these terms where you live. If you use ORI on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it. Some Services are offered only in certain regions.
Your account
The ORI cloud assistant needs an account, verified by email and secured with a passkey. Keep your devices and passkeys secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at contact@orilabs.org if you believe someone else has access to it.
Your model provider and API key
ORI Brain performs AI inference using the model provider you configure, with your own API key. Your use of that provider is between you and the provider: it is governed by their terms, and any charges they bill are yours. We are not responsible for the provider's availability, output, or charges.
ORI acts for you — you stay in charge
ORI can take real actions: operate your computer, a browser, and apps on your phone, send messages, and change files. When ORI acts at your request, it acts on your behalf.
- Review what ORI proposes before you approve it, especially anything that sends, buys, deletes, or cannot be undone.
- You are responsible for the actions you ask ORI to take, and for following the terms of the websites, apps, and accounts it uses for you.
- AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Do not rely on ORI for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice, or where a mistake could cause harm.
Acceptable use
Do not use ORI to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's rights, including privacy and intellectual property;
- access accounts, systems, or data you are not authorized to access;
- harass, deceive, or harm others, or send spam;
- interfere with, overload, or try to break the security of the Services or the relay;
- reverse engineer the Services, except where the law allows it.
We may suspend or end access to the cloud assistant or the beta if these rules are broken.
Your content
What you give ORI and what it makes for you is yours. We claim no ownership of it. Content on your ORI Brain stays on your computer. For the ORI cloud assistant, you allow us to store and process your content only as needed to run your assistant for you.
Fees and free trials
The ORI app and ORI Brain are currently free. The ORI cloud assistant may be offered as a free trial or as a paid plan. A trial or plan lasts for the period shown when you start it. Prices, periods, and what happens at the end are shown before you confirm, and those terms apply to that purchase. Purchases made through an app store are also subject to that store's terms.
When the cloud assistant stops
You can stop your cloud assistant at any time. Stopping it keeps your data. If your trial or plan ends, or your access is suspended, your cloud assistant may stop running. Before we delete stored cloud data, we will try to give you reasonable notice and a chance to take it with you, unless the law or a security issue prevents it.
Our software
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the ORI software for as long as you follow these terms. ORI, its name, logo, and design remain ours. Open-source parts are covered by their own licenses.
Third-party services
ORI can connect to services we do not run, such as model providers, app stores, websites, and apps. They are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that AI output will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or revenue. Our total liability for any claim about the Services is limited to the greater of what you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Some places do not allow these limits; where they do not, they apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
Ending these terms
You can stop using ORI at any time: unpair your devices, uninstall the app and ORI Brain, and stop your cloud assistant. We may suspend or end the Services, or your access to them, with notice where reasonable. Sections that by their nature should last — such as your content, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — continue after these terms end.
Changes
If these terms change, we will update this page and its date. Material changes will be noted in release notes. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the new terms.
